Two military personnel wearing white winter camouflage uniforms are crouched down on a wooden surface, using a measuring tape to measure something. They appear to be conducting a technical or engineering task in a cold, low-light environment. A coiled green cable or wire and various tools are visible nearby.

U.S. Marines with Marine Rotational Force-Europe 20.1, Marine Forces Europe and Africa, measure and cut time fuse before creating an abatis using explosives in Setermoen, Norway, Jan. 14, 2020. An abatis in this case uses whole trees taken down by explosives in an overlapping pattern at 45 degrees facing the enemy, which is used as an improvised anti-tank obstacle. MRF-E focuses on regional engagements throughout Europe by conducting various exercises, arctic cold-weather and mountain-warfare training, and military-to-military engagements, which enhance overall interoperability of the U.S. Marine Corps with allies and partners.
