Children of deployed soldiers of the 432nd Civil Affairs Battalion were recognized during the Welcome Home Warrior-Citizen ceremony and received bears representing their deployed parent. The unit spent nine months in Afghanistan conducting Provincial Reconstruction Team missions. The first-time deployed soldiers also received American flags in engraved wooden cases, pins and other commemorative items to recognize their combat deployment. Members of Congress, community members, and families gathered at the Kress Center in Green Bay, Wis., June 9, 2012 to honor the service and heroism of the soldiers who returned in March.
