Logistics specialists aboard the forward-deployed aircraft carrier USS George Washington (CVN 73) stand by as a MH-60S Sea Hawk helicopter, assigned to the Island Knights of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 25, delivers supplies during a vertical replenishment at sea with the Military Sealift Command dry cargo ammunition ship USNS Amelia Earhart (T-AKE 6). George Washington received hundreds of pallets of food and other supplies during the replenishment, which allows the aircraft carrier to continue its 2012 patrol. George Washington and its embarked air wing, Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 5, provide a combat-ready force that protects and defends the collective maritime interest of the U.S. and its allies and partners in the Asia-Pacific region.
