(Dec. 14, 2019) Friends and family of CFAY’s CPOA and JMSDF service members had the opportunity to enjoy fresh food, from traditional Japanese noodles to American style hamburgers, during the 33rd Annual Mochi Pounding Festival at the JMSDF Yokosuka base, Japan. Mochi is a traditional Japanese food made by pounding cooked rice with wooden mallets. The celebration was a cultural event to promote teamwork between the two forces and to celebrate the coming of the New Year. (U.S. Navy photo by Taylor Curry)
