191209-N-PG340-2086 OKINAWA, Japan (Dec. 9, 2019) Engineering Aid 3rd Class Hunter Sylvester, deployed with Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 5, uses a Philadelphia rod to check the elevation of the land across the project site prior to construction of two steel reinforced concrete pads in support of Marine Air Control Squadron 4 on board Marine Corps Air Station Futenma. NMCB-5 is deployed across the Indo-Pacific region conducting high-quality construction to support U.S. and partner nations to strengthen partnerships, deter aggression, and enable expeditionary logistics and naval power projection.
