191101-N-XK887-1432 DIEGO GARCIA, British Indian Ocean Territory (Nov. 1, 2019) U.S. Navy Seabees deployed with Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 5’s Detachment Diego Garcia shovel concrete into place during the first concrete placement for the current deployment. Concrete placements are time sensitive, so it is important to completely level out the concrete quickly in order to begin finishing it. NMCB-5 is deployed across the Indo-Pacific region conducting high quality construction to support U.S. and partner nations to strengthen partnerships, deter aggression, and enable expeditionary logistics and naval power projection.
