191011-N-IY022-1010 IWAKUNI, Japan (Oct. 11, 2019) Construction Mechanic Constructionman Delmar Tamayao of Bloomfield, New Jersey, performs routine maintenance on a concrete mixer engine. This maintenance is being done in support of the Battalion Equipment Evaluation Process (BEEP). During BEEP, the incoming battalion will assess and inspect the equipment for discrepancies with the outgoing battalion to ensure that the equipment is ready at the start of the project. NMCB-5 is deployed across the Indo-Pacific region conducting high-quality construction to support U.S. and partner nations to strengthen partnerships, deter aggression, and enable expeditionary logistics and naval power projection.
