191011-N-IY022-1011 IWAKUNI, Japan (Oct. 11, 2019) Steelworker 3rd Class William Shutt (left) of Montpelier, Virginia, assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 5, and Construction Electrician 2nd Class Thomas Costa, of Boonville, Arkansas, assigned to NMCB-4, review an inventory sheet after performing inventory on tools to support the detail's projects. Inventory is done on all construction kits and all tools when the oncoming battalion is reliving the outgoing battalion. The inventory inspections are ensuring all tools are present or accounted for and that there are no discrepancies on the tool programs so that they may prepare for and facilitate their efforts of the planned projects. NMCB-5 is deployed across the Indo-Pacific region conducting high-quality construction to support U.S. and partner nations to strengthen partnerships, deter aggression, and enable expeditionary logistics and naval power projection.
