    U.S. Marine Lance Cpl. Jared Rice conducts maintenance on an MV-22B Osprey aircraft during exercise KAMANDAG 3 at Subic Bay, Philippines, Oct. 16, 2019. The United States is proud to participate in this Philippine-led, bilateral exercise in order to develop capabilities across a wide range of military operations. Rice, a native of Winston-Salem, N.C., is a tiltrotor airframe mechanic with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) 262. KAMANDAG is an acronym for the Filipino phrase “Kaagapay Ng Mga Mandirigma Ng Dagat,” which translates to “Cooperation of the Warriors of the Sea,” highlighting the partnership between the U.S. and Philippine militaries.
