The 126th Forward Resuscitative Surgical Team (FRST) use non-standard or “off-label” equipment during a recent deployment to Southwest Asia. This hand-held x-ray generator is made of three different parts. The x-ray generator itself (A), the flat plate detector in two sizes (B), and the tablet (C) for radiograph viewing and is normally used to detect explosives.
