Medical staff take an x-ray of a IED blast victim’s ankle after he came to the 126th Forward Resuscitative Surgical Team (FRST). The FRST used an off-label x-ray machine to determine if the ankle was broken. The information proved vital for finding a non-surgical approach for treating the patient.
