A U.S. Navy F/A-18 Super Hornet, marked with the number '204', is captured launching from an aircraft carrier deck with afterburners fully engaged. The aircraft is photographed head-on at the moment of catapult launch, with landing gear still extended and twin engine exhaust flames clearly visible. A Prandtl-Glauert condensation cloud (vapor cone) is forming around the aircraft due to the rapid pressure change during the high-speed launch.
