The family of Edward Weissenback watch as a member of the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) laboratory prepares Weissenback's remains for his urn on Joint Base Pearl-Harbor Hickam, Hawaii, Sept. 16, 2019. Weissenback and his crew were on a routine resupply mission when their aircraft went down over Laos Dec. 27, 1971. After 48 years, a DPAA team recovered the remains and brought them back where DNA testing was completed, and his wife and sister was notified of her husband’s identification.
