U.S. Army Sgt. Larry Black, a service member attached to the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA), carries the urn of Edward Weissenback, a recently recovered Air America crewman, followed by his family during a Chain of Custody ceremony on Joint Base Pearl-Harbor Hickam, Hawaii, Sept. 16, 2019. Weissenback and his crew were on a routine resupply mission when their aircraft went down over Laos Dec. 27, 1971. After 48 years, a DPAA team recovered the remains and brought them back where DNA testing was completed, and his wife and sister were notified of her husband’s identification. The mission of DPAA is to provide the fullest possible accounting for missing personnel, their families and the nation. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Sgt. Jacqueline A. Clifford)
