Riders undergo a list of safety procedures prior to departing for Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, Calif., May 3. The ride was in honor of Master Gunnery Sgt. Brent L. Sherrell, a correction specialist with the Naval Consolidated Brig aboard MCAS Miramar. Sherrell was killed in a motorcycle accident one year ago. Riders from the air station met up with Marines from Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Calif., before arriving at Sherrell’s internment site. The ride served as an opportunity to practice safe riding procedures, build a stronger bond between Marine motorcyclists and to remember a fellow Marine.
