U.S. Army Sgt. Maj. (RET) Francisco Melendez (Center), a primary instructor for the Colombian Advance Joint Special Operations Noncommissioned Officer Course, gives instructions to the assistant instructors. The AIs are graduates of the first course and are assisting the primary instructors through this cycle. The goal is for the Colombians to one day take over as the primary instructors. Special Operations Command South and the Joint Special Operations University worked together to establish this course to continue building the team and strengthening partnerships.
