SANTA RITA, Guam (Aug. 22, 2019) Sgt. Jonathan Whitby, a native of Scottsdale, Arizona, assigned to III Marine Expeditionary Force Explosive Ordnance Disposal, instructs military members, from Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and U.S. Naval forces, how to operate a Demolition System, Remote-timed “Medusa” trigger during an explosive-breaching subject matter expert knowledge exchange as part of Exercise HYDRACRAB. HYDRACRAB is a quadrilateral exercise conducted by forces from Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and U.S. naval forces. The purpose of this exercise is to prepare the participating Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) forces to operate as an integrated, capable, and potent allied force ready to respond to a changing and complex maritime environment in the Indo-Pacific region.
