Sgt. Peter Morales, non-commissioned officer in charge, Engineer Platoon, Combat Logistics Battalion 3, Marine Corps Base Hawaii, reads a book to children at the newly renovated Patal Bato Literacy and Day Care Center here, April 25. As part of a community relations project during Exercise Balikatan 2012, U.S. service members gathered donations amongst themselves to repair, renew and stock the daycare that services more than 60 five and six year-old students. BK12 is an annual Republic of the Philippines-U.S. military exercise focusing on field training, humanitarian assistance and a command post exercise.
