    VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (July 11, 2019) As part of a Defense Support of Civil Authorities loading exercise (DSCA LOADEX), Aviation Boatswain’s Mates (Handling) guide a Landing Craft Air Cushion out of the well deck of the amphibious docking ship USS Carter Hall (LSD 50). DSCA LOADEX is designed to train and familiarize Sailors and Marines with rapid response capabilities following man-made and natural disaster, such as industrial accidents, hurricanes and earthquakes that affect both local civilian and military populations.
