NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (July 09, 2019) Master-at-Arms 2nd Class Deshawn Burrell, right, and Master-at-Arms 1st Class Fredrick Tanner, both assigned to the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS George Washington (CVN 73) security department, demonstrate how to use a baton during the July 2019 security reaction force basic (SRF-B) class training at Huntington Hall’s gymnasium. George Washington is undergoing refueling complex overhaul (RCOH) at Newport News Shipyard. RCOH is a nearly four-year project performed only once during a carrier’s 50-year service life that includes refueling of the ship’s two nuclear reactors, as well as significant repair, upgrades and modernization.
