190623-N-DX072-1155 PACIFIC OCEAN (June 23, 2019) Marines assigned to the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) Maritime Raid Force prepare to board the amphibious dock landing ship USS Ashland (LSD 48) from a Rigid-Hull Inflatable Boat (RHIB) assigned to the amphibious transport dock ship USS Green Bay (LPD 20) as part of a visit, board, search and seizure (VBSS) rehearsal. Green Bay and Ashland, part of the Wasp Amphibious Ready Group, with embarked 31st MEU, are operating in the Indo-Pacific region to enhance interoperability with partners and serve as a ready-response force for any type of contingency.
