Staff Sergeants Zachary Burtt and Christopher Secondi, 49th Security Forces Squadron military working dog handlers, demonstrate proper release procedures with Esta during a decoy training class, March 20. Burtt wears a protective sleeve on his arm that protects him when Esta attacks. MWDs are used throughout the military to detect explosive devices and illegal narcotics and assist during patrol on military installations worldwide.
