VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (May 31, 2019) Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class Anthony Galindo (top left), Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class Tristen Smith (bottom left), and Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class Michael Dolgonos, all Sailors assigned to the medical department of the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS George Washington (CVN 73), practice basic lifesaving skills on a training dummy during the fourth annual Corpsman Skills Day held at the Adm. Joel T. Boone Branch Health Clinic on Joint Expeditionary Base, Little Creek-Fort Story. George Washington is undergoing refueling complex overhaul (RCOH) at Newport News Shipyard. RCOH is a nearly four-year project performed only once during a carrier’s 50-year service life that includes refueling of the ship’s two nuclear reactors, as well as significant repair, upgrades and modernization.
