Spc. Larry Walker, from Atlanta, Georgia, uses a 2-inch paint brush to gather possibly contaminated debris and then vacuum it into a sample jar. Each sample jar is marked with the exact location where the debris was collected. Prominent Hunt 19-1 is part of regularly scheduled biannual interagency training exercises by the U.S. government's National Technical Nuclear Forensics (NTNF) Ground Collection Task Force (GCTF) that have been conducted since 2012. This training exercise provides an opportunity to practice and enhance the NTNF GCTF's operational readiness to respond to a nuclear detonation in the United States or overseas.
