Robin Fortner, the Marine Corps Systems Command sergeant major, gives remarks at the National Coach of the Year Award presentations during the 2019 Women’s Basketball Coaches Association Convention in Tampa, Florida, April 5, 2019. Marines partnered with and attended the convention to engage with women student-athletes and inform them of opportunities available within the Marine Corps. The WBCA’s mission is to promote women’s basketball by unifying coaches at all levels to develop a reputable identity for the sport and to foster and promote the development of the game of basketball as a sport for women and girls.
