    U.S. Naval Forces Europe-Africa/U.S. Sixth Fleet

    Sailors and Marines deployed aboard amphibious dock landing ship USS Whidbey Island explore St. Peter's Basilica while on a guided tour of the Vatican City and Rome during a port visit in Naples, Italy, Jan. 18. Whidbey Island is deployed to the U.S. 6th Fleet area of responsibility conducting maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts. Whidbey Island is deployed as part of the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group and is returning to her home port in Little Creek, Va., after being relieved by the Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group, Jan. 5.
