PEARL HARBOR, HI - U.S. Marine Lance Cpl. John Fiorella, a combat engineer with Battalion Landing Team 3/1, 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), mans the rails aboard the Whidbey Island-class dock landing ship USS Rushmore (LSD 47), February 16, 2019. Throughout the Western Pacific 18-2 deployment, the 13th MEU and Navy's Essex Amphibious Ready Group conducted training and operations across four combatant commands, strengthening key partnerships and providing the combatant commanders a flexible and lethal crisis response force.
