A U.S. Army Reserve Soldier scans for targets through the haze of rain and fog on a blank range during Operation Cold Steel III at Fort Hunter Liggett, Calif., on February 13, 2019. Weather conditions like rain, cold and fog can make for challenging situations when conducting training required to be ready for future operations. Operation Cold Steel III trains and qualifies Army Reserve Soldiers on M2 .50 caliber machine guns, M19 40 mm automatic grenade launchers and M240 7.62 mm machine guns weapons systems in ground and mounted military vehicles, in order to provide lethal and combat ready units ready to deploy anywhere in the world.
