Solomon Strother, uncle to U.S. Air Force Tech. Sgt. Francis Strother, recruiter for the 145th Airlift Wing, checks his paperwork prior to a ceremony at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Charlotte, N.C. Jan. 17, 2019. Strother tells a story of how he came from Monrovia, Liberia following a civil war in his country that lasted almost eight years. Strother helped more than twenty family and friends make their way to The United States of America, including his uncle.
