A bowl full of candy is nestled on the desk of U.S. Air Force Tech. Sgt. Francis Strother, recruiter for the 145th Airlift Wing, at the North Carolina Air National Guard (NCANG) Base, Charlotte Douglas International Airport, Jan. 13, 2019. Strother was enticed to join the military when he ran across an American soldier at an Embassy in Liberia that handed him some candy.
