A U.S. Marines attached to a Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force exits a Riverine Patrol Boat to lead his team to an insertion point in the jungle of Santo Tomas Dec. 6. The simulation was held with U.S. Marines attached to a SPMAGTF and members of the Guatemalan Naval Special Forces.
The Riverines and SPMAGTF Marines are participating in the SMEE exchanges as a part of Amphibious-Southern Partnership Station 2012, an annual deployment of U.S. military teams to the U.S. Southern Command area of responsibility.
