New York Army National Guard Lt. Col. Sean Flynn speaks with interviewers during filming of the “Medal of Honor” documentary series highlighting stories of America’s Medal of Honor recipients on June 5, 2017 in Los Angeles, Calif. Flynn, a combat veteran of the war in Iraq, is the operations officer of the Army National Guard’s 42nd Infantry Division and spoke about the WWII exploits of Army Master Sgt. Vito Bertoldo. Bertoldo, of Decatur, Illinois, received the Medal of Honor for his actions defending his battalion command post while assigned to the 1st Battalion, 242nd Infantry Regiment in Hatten, France January 9-10, 1945.
