U.S. Sailors and members of Federal Fire San Diego fight a simulated fire during a Chapter 13 damage control drill aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8) in San Diego Oct. 31, 2018. A Chapter 13 drill is an assessment of the ship’s damage control capabilities while in an extensive maintenance availability. It incorporates ship’s company, members of Federal Fire San Diego, the National City Fire Department and personnel from Southwest Regional Maintenance Center (SWRMC).
