Petty Officer 1st Class Ome Firpi, builder, a native of New York City, repairs erosion damage near the mouth of the Misawa River. Firpi, along with other Seabees assigned to Naval Facilities Engineering Command Far East Detachment Misawa, are helping mend receding areas that were damaged following a devastating tsunami triggered by the Great East Japan Earthquake.
