Petty Officer 2nd Class James Lee, machinist's mate, a native of New York City, smooths out freshly-laid gravel at Hachinohe Pump Station No. 2, located in northern Japan. Lee, Fleet Logistics Center Yokosuka Detachment Hachinohe facility manager, is prepping the ground for the addition of a temporary work space at the pump station, which was badly damaged following a devastating tsunami triggered by the Great East Japan Earthquake. The pump station will undergo repairs next year, but still plays a role in supplying Misawa Air Base with JP-8 fuel.
