    Danny de Schepper, of Oudenaarde, Belgium, stands near the grave of Sgt. Lew Miller at the Flanders Field American Cemetery Aug. 5, 2018, in Waregem, Belgium. For the past four years, De Schepper has adopted the grave of Miller and visits about once a month to place flowers. Miller was killed Nov. 1, 1918, while serving in the 146th Infantry, 37th Division during the Ypres-Lys campaign.
