Dan Wheldon, two-time Indy 500 winner, waves to the audience before racing in the IZOD IndyCar season finale Oct. 16, 2011, at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Las Vegas, Nev. Wheldon was going into the 12th lap of the race when he was involved in a fatal 15-car pileup that took his life.
