MILLINGTON, Tenn. (Sept. 12, 2018) Commander, Navy Recruiting Command, Rear Adm. Brendan R. McLane had the opportunity to experience the Navy’s Virtual Reality asset, the “Nimitz,” during a scheduled visit to Millington Central High School. The experience consists of going through a series of exercises, starting with a briefing, before participating in a virtual high-speed water extraction of a Navy SEAL team that is pinned down under enemy fire. The Nimitz is named after Fleet Adm. Chester Nimitz, a native of Fredericksburg, Texas, who commanded the U.S. Pacific Fleet during WWII.
