MILLINGTON, Tenn. (Sept. 12, 2018) Machinist Mate 2nd Class Thomas Daily, a recruiter assigned to Navy Talent Acquisition Force Mid-South, speaks to Dustin Bomes, a member of Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps, during a scheduled visit to the Millington Area High School. During the visit the students had the opportunity to experience the Navy’s Virtual Reality asset, the “Nimitz.” The experience consists of going through a series of exercises, starting with a briefing, before participating in a virtual high-speed water extraction of a Navy SEAL team that is pinned down under enemy fire. The Nimitz is named after Fleet Adm. Chester Nimitz, a native of Fredericksburg, Texas, who commanded the U.S. Pacific Fleet during WWII.
