Enhanced Air Cooperation Initiative lengthens Aussie, Marine Corps combat effectiveness

A member of the Australian Army rolls up the fuel line from an Australian Defence Force C-130J Hercules at the Royal Australian Air Force Base, Darwin, Aug. 27, 2018. The ADF did a ground refuel from their Hercules to a U.S. Marine Corps MV-22 Osprey with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 268 (VMM-268) deployed with Marine Rotational Force – Darwin. This refueling trial was the first time the Enhanced Air Cooperation initiative has integrated with aviation capabilities not assigned to the United States Air Force. Through combined training and improved interoperability, the EAC initiative enhances the capabilities of both forces, and positions both nations to better respond to emergencies and disasters.
