Ricky Raley, a retired infantryman with the Indiana National Guard, paralyzed from the waist down, is welcomed to Hunter Army Airfield, Ga., Aug. 21, 2018, by Lt. Col. Kenneth Dwyer, HAAF garrison commander, and Command Sgt. Maj. LaVander R. Wilkerson, HAAF garrison command sergeant major. HAAF was one of many stops for Raley during a 1,500-mile road trip from New York City to St. Petersburg, Fla., on a handcycle to raise awareness for the effects of post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injuries. Raley himself suffered a TBI during a deployment in Iraq and was paralyzed following a motor vehicle accident months after returning home from his deployment. (U.S. Army photo by Staff Sgt. Sierra A.
