Capt. Wayne Macrae, chaplain at Commander, U.S. 2nd Fleet, reads the benediction at the closing of 2nd Fleet’s disestablishment ceremony held at C2F’s Maritime Headquarters on board Naval Station Norfolk. C2F assets, personnel and responsibilities will merge into the new Fleet and Joint Operations organization at U.S. Fleet Forces Command. The disestablishment allows the Navy to continue the C2F mission while achieving vital cost-savings and a streamlined organizational structure.
