Eric Wesley, U.S. Army Futures Command task force director, a design created by Steven Kim, mechanical engineering undergraduate student, University of Texas, Austin, Texas, during a tour Aug. 8, 2018, at the Cockrell Engineer School. The visit is a lead up to the U.S. Army Futures Command activation ceremony later in August. Army senior leaders chose Austin for its headquarters location by evaluating locations with significant technology talent, research and development investment, academic and private sector innovation and positive quality of life.
