Under Secretary of the Army, the Honorable Ryan D. McCarthy, and U.S. Army Futures Command Task Force Director Lt. Gen. Eric J. Wesley, speak with Roger Rose, operations manager, Longhorn Makerstudio during a tour of the Cockrell Engineering School at the University of Texas, Aug. 8, 2018. McCarthy toured the Cockrell School, speaking with instructors and students about various engineering projects the students are currently designing. The visit is a lead up to the U.S. Army Futures Command activation later in August. Army senior leaders chose Austin for its headquarters location by evaluating locations with significant technology talent, research and development investment, academic and private sector innovation and positive quality of life.
