U.S. Navy Corpsman HM2 Matthew Schulten works with the Japanese Ground Self Defense Force to strap a mock casualty into a helicopter for a casualty evacuation drill during Artillery Relocation Training Program 18-2 July 30, 2018, on Camp YMA, Yausubetsu Maneuver Area, Hokkaido, Japan. The drill gave the corpsman an opportunity to work alongside the JGSDF to insure that in the event of a real scenario they could transport a patient to a nearby hospital in a timely manner.. The corpsman are working with 3rd Battalion, 12th Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, based out of Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan. Schulten is a native of Oakland City, Indiana.
