    319th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment

    A Mi-17 helicopter lands at Forward Operating Base Eagle, Zabul province, Afghanistan, Sept. 8, to pick up and deliver fire wood and food to combat outposts. A coalition aircrew of Afghan, U.S. and Lithuanian airmen from the Kandahar Air Wing, Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan comprise the only Afghan Air Wing to currently make operational sling load deliveries throughout the country. Afghan Air Force Mi-17s can externally sling load more than 8,500 pounds of oversized or bulky cargo.
