    180712-D-WR005-1282 JOINT BASE PEARL HARBOR-HICKAM, Hawaii (July, 12, 2018) Dawnn Villarreal, A Queens Medical Center accounts payable staff member and volunteer patient actor, sits in the moulage tent while being painted with simulated blood on mock facial lacerations from a Tripler Army Medical Center medic during the U.S. Navy’s Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) exercise, as part of the humanitarian assistance and disaster relief portion of the training event. Regional Health Command-Pacific Soldiers and civilians participated in the statewide medical response training to enhance operability, test communication and exercise crisis response capabilities amongst interagency partners. Twenty-five nations, 45 ships, five submarines, about 200 aircraft and 25,000 personnel are participating in RIMPAC from June 27 to Aug 2 in and around the Hawaiian Island and Southern California. The world's largest maritime exercise, RIMPAC provides a unique training opportunity while fostering and sustaining cooperative relationships among participants critical to ensuring the safety of sea lanes and security of the world's oceans.
