A U.S. Navy Landing Craft Air Cushion, ferrying U.S. Marines from the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit and their equipment comes ashore at Arta Beach, Djibouti, after launching from the multipurpose amphibious assault ship USS Bataan, Sept. 3. The 22nd MEU is deployed with the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group as the U.S. Central Command theater reserve force and also provides support for maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
