Gunnery Sgt. James L. Collier, chief drill instructor, Fox Company, 2nd Recruit Training Battalion, resets a timer during a physical fitness test at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, June 25. During the final portion of the test, recruits must run three miles as quickly as possible to complete the test. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Fox Company is scheduled to graduate Aug. 10.
