TOKYO, Japan (June 17, 2018) Aviation Boatswain’s Mate (aircraft handling) 3rd Class Miranda Browning, assigned to Military Sealift Command hospital ship USNS Mercy (T-AH 19) for Pacific Partnership 2018 (PP18), holds the chock and chains as an SH-60K Sea Hawk helicopter, attached to the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF), takes off from the Mercy’s flight deck during a bilateral medical training team drill between Mercy and JMSDF personnel. USNS Mercy is making port visits to Yokosuka and Tokyo to promote relationships between U.S. Navy Sailors and Japanese citizens through cultural exchange and bilateral training.
